2. General Information

We take the protection of your personal data very seriously. We treat your personal data confidentially and in accordance with the statutory data protection regulations and this privacy policy.

When you use this website, various personal data are collected. This privacy policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and what rights you have regarding your data.

3. Hosting and Server Log Files

This website is hosted by Strato AG, Otto-Ostrowski-Straße 7, 10249 Berlin, Germany. A data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR is in place with the hosting provider.

The hosting provider automatically collects and stores information in so-called server log files, which your browser automatically transmits. These are:

This data is not merged with other data sources. The legal basis for data processing is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in the technically error-free presentation and optimisation of his website.

No Cookies, No Tracking

This website does not use cookies and does not use any analytics or tracking services. Fonts are hosted locally on our own server — no connection to third-party font services is established.

External Software Libraries (CDNs)

The practice area loads open-source software libraries, music notation components and instrument sound samples from content delivery networks: jsDelivr (Prospect One sp. z o.o., Poland), Verovio (RISM Digital Center, Switzerland) and GitHub Pages (GitHub, Inc., USA). When these files are loaded, your IP address is transmitted to the respective provider; no cookies are set and no tracking takes place. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in the reliable and efficient delivery of these components (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR).

Local Storage

The practice area and the shop store purely functional data (for example language preference, practice settings, shopping cart contents and purchase unlocks) in your browser’s local storage. This data remains on your device, is not transmitted to us and is not used for tracking. You can delete it at any time via your browser settings.

4. Online Shop and Payment (Stripe)

When you purchase sheet music or make a voluntary donation in our shop, the payment is processed by Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd., 1 Grand Canal Street Lower, Grand Canal Dock, Dublin, Ireland (“Stripe”). Your payment details (such as card number or other payment method data) are entered directly with Stripe and are not stored on our server at any time.

For order processing we receive and store from Stripe: your name, email address, country and — for purchases — your billing address, together with the purchased items and the amount paid. We use this data to deliver your download links by email, to issue an invoice or receipt and to comply with statutory retention obligations under German tax law (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b and lit. c GDPR). Invoices and order records are retained for the statutory retention periods.

Further information on how Stripe handles personal data can be found in Stripe’s privacy policy at: https://stripe.com/privacy

5. Contact by Email

If you contact us by email, your enquiry including the personal data you provide (name, email address, content of your message) will be stored and processed by us for the purpose of handling your request and in case of follow-up questions. We will not pass on this data without your consent.

The processing of this data is based on Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR, if your request is related to the performance of a contract or is necessary for the implementation of pre-contractual measures. In all other cases, the processing is based on our legitimate interest in the effective processing of the requests addressed to us (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR).

6. YouTube

This website embeds videos from YouTube in privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com). The operator of the pages is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.

In privacy-enhanced mode, YouTube does not store information about visitors before they play a video. Only when you start a video is a connection to YouTube’s servers established; the YouTube server is then informed which of our pages you have visited. If you are logged into your YouTube account, YouTube can associate your viewing behaviour with your personal profile. You can prevent this by logging out of your YouTube account.

YouTube is used in the interest of an appealing presentation of our online offers. This represents a legitimate interest within the meaning of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR.

Further information on how YouTube handles user data can be found in YouTube’s privacy policy at: https://policies.google.com/privacy

8. Data Security

This site uses SSL or TLS encryption for security reasons and for the protection of the transmission of confidential content, such as orders or enquiries that you send to us as the site operator. You can recognise an encrypted connection by the fact that the address line of the browser changes from "http://" to "https://" and by the lock symbol in your browser line.

If SSL or TLS encryption is activated, the data that you transmit to us cannot be read by third parties.
